Hello world! Welcome back to another blog. This week as we head into April, it featured completed projects, a wakeup call as to how I can leave my day job to help earn a living in acting, and a wedding which was magical to see. So without further ado, here is what I got up to on the week commencing 31st March 2025.
Professional:
Acting class:
This week in class we looked at doing some improvisation after some university students came in to look for actors for their project. This was fun to do, and seeing everyone’s interpretations of what they’re after was fascinating. This then led onto talking about agents and then two scripts which people from the class wrote and posted, which were brilliant to read. But I can’t wait for next week when we finally get to work on them properly.
Passion show:
This week my online passion show is now finally ready to be posted the following week. It took a while but it was worth it, and I hope that it'll go down a storm with everyone. Be sure to click the link to my JustGiving page to make a donation if you haven't already. I can't wait for you all to watch it, but depending on where you're reading this, you have until the end of April to make your donation.
Actors Pro Expo:
This week I listened to another incredible actors pro expo seminar. This was with an acting coach on how to ditch the day job and make acting my full time career. This was an eye opener, and it’s definitely changed on how I see my career so far and how it can impact me in the audition room. So before it expires I may need to screen record it or at least listen to it again so that I’ve got every single detail from it.
Film Festival:
This week I submitted my film to more festivals and also made my vlog of when I went to my first festival. I even managed to get a donation on my GoFundMe page which also gave me some more motivation which I needed. Here is the full video below where you can see first hand my reactions of each segment of the night.
Act On This Podcast:
This week I managed to catch up on a podcast with actor and writer Robbie O’Neill. I won’t reveal all as always, but this session included how he got into the industry, his involvement in adolescence and how he managed to write two episodes of The City is Ours. This was very insightful and yes it was a long one, but it was worth the watch.

Coronation Street:
This week I watched the episodes from 25th and 26th directed by the brilliant Duncan Foster. The big storyline was Rob holding Carla hostage. First Tracy was involved and then Lisa soon got hooked in. And after Rob played Kit around, not only was he finally arrested, but Btesy was caught in the firing line. And with the news that Lisa was the one responsible, it gave Rob a chance to get into her head and end things with Carla. But it couldn't be at a more worse time when Betsy gets news of the results from her injury after surgery. Tracy was also relieved to have it over after being interviewed by Kit, but there was plenty of drama outside of that horrific ordeal. Julie was trying to make the most of her time left, but not taking her meds didn;t help, and i do get why she's also feeling scared. But one thing that came into her mind was helping set up Todd with new scaffolder Theo, who mistakenly thought that Julie was faking her pain. But it did not go to plan after Eileen and Julie tried to set the pair up, and only worse when Theo admitted he's straight. But after a chance encounter at speed dahl (where they ended up on good terms), and Todd noticing him on a dating app, I wonder if his chance of luck will change? There also seems to be a war brewing between Debbie and Ronnie and Mick and Lou after accusing Mick of stealing Debbie's purse, but she was right to say that they shouldn't wind him up as that will be what he wants. But Jack being sent home from school didn't help, but I'm glad she managed to get it sorted. but I know that her sad diagnosis will be coming soon, after forgetting more things as time goes on. Jenny couldn't believe her luck to receive money from Johnny, and using it to treat herself got her a telling off from Rita (and I wouldn't want to mess with her), and then Rita herself revealed all to daisy. After seeing spoilers, there may be yet another war between the pair. And
Hollyoaks:
This week featured doubts about a dangerous business, shocking secrets and a new friendship. Mondays episode saw the aftermath of Tony hitting Arlo. But after irritating Ro followed by Tony handing himself into the police for what he did, it seems like things may be looking up. But after Arlo twists the narrative, this may be getting worse before they get better. Freddie is also not giving up on feeeing Mercedes, and Don you also suspicious. But Rex brainwashing ste was cruel, but after a confrontation with grace, it’s clear he wants out but something tells me it won’t be yet after he gets Dillon to do another job for him. Tuesdays episode saw the aftermath of Tony’s arrest and unable to open the hutch because of it. But after some time and a discovery linking to the graffiti at the hutch, Marie may be starting to believe tony, Diane and Ro might be right. Well at least find out that he’s not the good boy he makes out to be.But it’s affected Joel and leelas relationship to the point where they each have different views on Arlo. And Tommy did everything he can to brainwash joel into splitting up with Leela to get her to himself (which I swear is his plan), but when Joel spots something of Tommys and Tommy revealing his backstory (which I’m not sure if he’s telling the truth or is a really good liar), I feel there’s a past connection which could be revealed sooner rather than later. Donny is also cautious of Dillon, who is onto rex. But after mistakenly thinking that Donny is involved in Rex’s scheme, Banks may use this as an advantage when Freddie and Maxine saw Donny and Rex at James’ old place. Finally, Wednesdays episode saw grace looking for Curtis. After accusing Freddie (who was having enough trouble helping Mercedes, but she gave him some encouragement to keep going), DI banks managed to make it clear that if Rex steps out of line, Curtis won’t be so lucky. And grace also made it clear she’s not giving up, even if Rex has doubts. Ro is also still struggling, and even though I could be wrong, his online friend Nina may end up being nasty again. But it looks like Kathleen-Angel may be what he needs. But after Diane comforts Tony and helped him scrub off the Graffiti, Marie has definitely got the wrong end of the stick, and even the bottle in Arlo's bag wasn't enough to make Marie wake up. Finally, Martha reveals some shocking information linking to Sienna's health fears (which may explain why she didn't want Sienna and Cleo together), and Joel and Leela are still at loggerheads after Leela revealed that Tommy tried to kiss her. But Tommy's real reason as to why he wanted Joel at a session is finally revealed, and seeing that the next episode will be what happened within the missing year, I wonder if that will be included?
Eastenders:
This week in Walford featured new arrivals, shocking secrets coming to light, a wonderful engagement and emotional preparations. Mondays episode saw Nigel panic when he thinks Phil is missing, and Sharon relieved when he arrived home safe. But Phil was not mad at Nigel knowing that the dementia played a big part in it. Sharon also had an idea to get Phil’s children and the mother of his children to come round, and after a talking to from Denise after thinking it was a pity party, he ended up having a good time. But after declaring his love for sharon, you can understand the heartache when she reveals her and grants secret. But with the return of her sister Vicky, it’s going to be an interesting watch at the aftermath of the reveal. And it wasn’t just Sharon and Phil that had drama. A customer who becomes friends with Sonia and Bianca had an ulterior motive after leaving a bad review of Ian’s cafe (but Louie gave him some brilliant advice, which was wise coming from his age), and Lily and Avani used some of the drugs Avani purchased as a way of coping. But I have a feeling that Avani may be struggling with the after affects from it. You can also imagine Lauren’s frustration when Peter missed the scan due to contacting Cindy, but I also get peters worries too. But it’s only a matter of time until he has to make a decision between his mum and Lauren. Tuesdays episode saw the he aftermath of Sharon’s sister Vicky returning, lying about Spencer (who I haven’t met but seems like a real sweetheart). But after promising Sharon there are no more secrets, her ulterior motive with new Beau Ross comes to light. And ross’ son Joel may make his mark on the street when he becomes friends with Tommy. Bianca also got to see why the customer from Mondays episode invited her out, after revealing her job and what it could mean for Bianca and Sonia. I hope I’m proven right on it as well. And also good on Phil for yes being disappointed by Sharon, knowing that he can handle this revelation much better. And Lauren’s real reason as to why she turned down peters proposal was heartbreaking, but everything changes when Kathy reveals her involvement in Cindys attack. Wednesdays episode saw Vicki and Ross take their plan in place to get money. Priya was right to intrude, but Ian as always is falling for it knowing he’s a good person at heart. But after Sharon checks in with Ian, a he’s right to confront him after lying again. Elaine also needs to point out that somia needs to grieve, and after finishing Bianca of the podcast offer (which good on Bianca knowing it may help her) and the return of Bex and her wanting to see martins grave, Sonia will need to face her fears at some point. Tommy also face some insight to Joel on the situation on each house in Walford, and lily was happy for him he managed to be friends with someone other than his AI game. But Tommy making Joel back away from lily I feel was an attempt to stop her from blurring out the secret. And after Peter finding out Kathy’s involvement in Cindys attack, he and Lauren vow to start fresh after she proposes to him. Although I don’t want my proposal to be in public! Finally Thursdays episode saw Sharon understandably mad at Sharon for keeping a yet another secret from her, given the fact that it’s Ross’ mess she’s involved with. But a talking to from Linda made her realise that if he doesn’t get what he wants, Vicki will also take the hit for it. I do hope she’ll pay her back, but it looks like ross is out to cause more trouble, when Sharon spots him talking to Joel very firmly. And speaking of Joel, he definitely wants to make his presence known when trying to chat up Amy, and I’m glad he didn’t bully Tommy when finding out about his AI secret, even if it does get a life riled up. Peter and Lauren also try to move on following their engagement, but I’m glad she was empathetic about Peter missing Cindy. I’m also glad that after some time to think, whilst Peter hasn’t fully forgiven Kathy, they’re on good terms at least. Bianca goes ahead with the podcast anyway knowing it’ll help her, whilst Sonia finally faces her fears with Bex and Kathy when seeing Martin at the chapel of rest. And her beautiful speech at the end of the episode was beautiful, and if Stacey were here she would’ve said exactly the same thing. I know the next week will be an emotional one.
Toxic Town:
This week I started this new jack Thorne drama. And it was a cracking first episode. Susan’s new about her baby is not something a mother wants to hear, and it doesn’t help that Peter decided to leave her at the worst possible time. Tracey also had tragedy when trying to start a family, but after worker Pat (who is also expecting a child with wife Maggie), and his team work to rebuild a steel making site, and seeing specs of the waste going into the drains and airborn particles into the air and surfaces, I can see why it’s a talked about headline in the news. I don’t know if the character of ted was a real life worker for the council or someone based from the series, but you do have to feel for him when starting out in the job. And his plan to help the community safely soon turned disastrous when his car was set on fire.
Adolescence:
This week I started watching the drama that got everyone talking. Wow I’m glad I started watching this, and the first episode was thrilling and it didn’t want to make me leave my seat. What I liked about it was not only the acting but also a glimpse as to how a murder case from arrest to interview goes, when DI basCombe talks with the staff before seeing young Jamie himself to the interview itself. You can also see that some may find it hard like Erica the nurse, but it has to be done. I also nearly shredded a tear or two when Jamie had to go through a strip search (which was not shown but you can tell by Stephen’s face it was hard to watch), and the Jamie’s horrid nature during the interview showed that he is hiding something dark, and maybe the tears are guilt. But I can’t wait to watch the rest of the series to see how it all unfolds and why he did what he did.
This City is Ours:
This week I started this new drama starring Sean bean and James Nelson-Joyce. I’ll be honest it was abit of a slow burner for the first episode, but I’m skillet getting into it. Michael is clearly a master of making deals, one of which being in Spain and finding a mole within the group. But his dream for a child with partner Diana may sway him away from the world of crime. And Diana is also having worries of her own, with her mum being in prison. I’m just glad he made it to his friend Jamie’s christening as promised, but Davys wife Cheryl seemed to be stirring up trouble, which doesn’t seem to bother Diana. Much. But whilst on holiday in Spain, her question as to if Michael has killed anyone may be answered when they get what they want in the gang. Episode 2 saw the aftermath of Michael and Ronnie's actions, leading Ronnie to end up killing Davy before he could blurt out what's going on. This may have strengthened his relationship with son Jamie, but Diana is keen for Michael to move on with his life, but during the meeting with The Amigos, even Ricky could see that Michael was quiet, and after telling him about what he wants in life other than the business, Ricky urges him to speak up for himself. During the anniversary dinner, Banksey revealed some stuff which led to Michael having to make a tough decision linking to Ronnie. Understandably, Diana is surprised by what she sees and thinking what is going on.
Personal:
Animal Farm:
This week I went to watch Animal Farm at the Nottingham Playhouse with my friend from The Actors Workshop followed by a lovely drink with them afterwards. This was both a professional (as I need to surround myself with theatre) and personal (as I needed a day of rest and relaxation) and it was a day well spent. The cast did so well, and I thoroughly enjoyed this brilliant masterpiece. Keep an eye out for a review of my thoughts of the show, where the latest it’ll be out is beginning/mid May. I even managed to do some window shopping and even saw some nice clothes which I plan to purchase very soon. Even though I don’t often impulse buy, there are some things which I deserve to treat myself to, especially with an upcoming doctors appointment next week which I should reward myself for when it’s done.
Exercise:
This week I struggled to maintain my usual routine but I managed to adapt around my routine. This included one session to the gym, but I managed to get on the exercise bike twice. On Monday I managed to reach 10k in 15mins 43secs and on Thursday I managed to get it done in 15mins 30secs. And with some yoga in between, I managed to get a good load of exercise in.
Premier league:
This week because of the early start I watched the second semi final and final of the premier league darts in Berlin. I was very pleased as he really deserved the win, and I don’t know if he’ll be in the top 4 by the play offs, but that night was a start at least. But I was also surprised by finding out that Chris Dobey thrashed Luke Littler. Maybe it’s the fact that other countries played a part. But I do also hope Michael can Gerwan is better in the next match following his injury.
Haircut:
This week I managed to get my haircut. I never knew it was also a form of self care, as there’s something about having your hair done which is actually really relaxing. And just as well, as it was just in time for a special occasion that week (which I’ll mention next) and so it was definitely worth the appointment.

Cousins Wedding:
This week was my cousins wedding. What a beautiful ceremony it was, and unlike the weddings you see in Corrie, Eastenders or Hollyoaks, everything went according to plan. But for me, it didn’t end in the way I want, which I’ll touch base upon later.
Sponsored Walk:
This week I did my 5k walk for Autism Acceptance Week. And you know what? I thoroughly enjoyed it. Getting my steps in. Breathing in the fresh air. It was nice, and with beautiful weather to say the least. Here are some of the checkpoints on my journey along with how long I've walked for.
Britain's Got Talent:
This week on the show featured creepy dolls, a man writing a song about Bruno and a man who lifts weights, strips and sings, and looks amazing for 59 years old. But Bruno’s golden buzzer, and a singer who was a singer on Dancing With The Stars were my favourites, and it’s moments like this where I won’t complain on other acts from other countries coming to audition for this show, as maybe they wanted to take their talent on a global scale. And I also liked an aerialist who did a beautiful routine. It’s also acts like this where it seems abit boring, but the strength they have to do stuff like this is beautiful to see. I also loved KSIs brother playing a prank on him as an audition. I thought that was brilliant.

Gogglebox:
This week on the show there was once again so much variety of tv to watch. If I was with Nathaniel, I’d be losing my rag in “Temptation Fortune” and I think Margo may need a visit to the “Bad Dog Academy”. I also don’t know what the fuss is with Greenland in the news, and I think I’d struggle with even a simple hugging challenge in “Million dollar secret”. “Tribe” also put me off of my food, and I still can’t believe that WWE is still going strong to this day. And finally I could see the tears in their eyes during “Adolescence”, and I agree with them that “The Yorkshire Vet” deserves a medal after that heroic performance with the cow.
Hard times:
This weeks hard times included suffering from the dreaded hay fever and having to turn down an audition. Yes it could’ve been something which may have given me a chance to build up a big credit, but due to money being tight and my knee not fully recovered (and as I’m writing this it does feel a lot better but not fully healed), I had to say no. I’ll admit this one was a downer for me, as it looked so much fun. But it was also one of those things where it’s beyond my control. But I’m taking on board Ross Grant's advice that sometimes you need to get rid of the good to make way for the great. Fingers crossed something better will come along! My final hard moment was suffering from overstimulation at the wedding, therefore having to leave early. Thankfully it happened at the reception, as the last thing I needed at the service was to make a scene, but even though I had a non negotiable, I needed to listen to my social battery, which was what I did. But going to the event itself was a challenge, so at least I did something I know I can be proud of.
What have I learnt this week? That I may have found a way to leave my day job and still earn an income from acting whilst I work to the role I've been working really hard to achieve on.
See you soon for another blog. Until next time…
This is The Autistic Actress signing off :)
