Hello world! Welcome back to another blog! As we head into the month where spring is well and truly underway, here is what I got up to this week!
Monday: To start the day I watched more of the premier league darts. I got up slightly later but I managed to squeeze a bit of energy in there and I’m glad I did. I then made my way to work which was all picking (although with bank holiday coming up I’m not surprised it was busy). And it felt good to be walking and working as I got my steps in and I also managed to run through my script in prep for my self tape tomorrow. As I got back I scheduled my day and had a nap which as always was much needed.
At lunch I watched a bit of episode 3 of Love Triangle. This got very tense indeed, and whilst Dan and Aly managed to settle their differences peacefully, it seems that Lloyd and Danika have caused quite a stir. I get that she has been through a rough time prior to the show but that doesn’t excuse how she went about things. But I can’t wait to see how it folds out later on.
I then moved onto watching Britains Got Talent whilst I deleted some stuff from my phone and finally published my blog on some of the latest tv and theatre reviews (where you can see here: LINK). This one had some weird talents. From Batman singing Defying Gravity, Japanese beat boxers to Simon’s dogs making an appearance in a strange but funny act. I was surprised that a choir didn’t get the golden buzzer, and I’ll be honest I didn’t think that the Japanese dance act felt like I would push it. But given the fact that they created their own music and costumes mean double the work, so I do appreciate the hard work on that score. Let’s hope they prove me wrong in the live shows. I also thought that Simon was abit harsh on the last act, as yes he was probably nervous to surprise his parents, but maybe all his energy was focused on making sure the don’t find out he was actually auditioning. Let’s just hope he can take it to the next level in the live shows.
The afternoon went in a slightly different direction. so after looking through the script for my acting class I started the acting job search early and also saved some more day jobs to apply for later. I knew that the script was important but I felt like there was nothing else to work on. And the last thing I want is to get overwhelmed and over rehearse it. So after sharing ideas with my reader it looks like we have a plan in place. I then did some yoga which once again was needed, and I also managed to get through the silent meditation when the dog wanted to play with dad. Which is a positive.
After recapping some of the script again, then moved onto watching Coronation Street from the week commencing 8th April. And there’s a lot to say on that score. First of all Roy will definitely find it hard on prison, and with the flashbacks of Lauren he may be able to piece together some crucial evidence. And after what happened between Gary and Sarah sometimes some things are best kept a secret, and after being offered a new job at a new solicitors (where I’ll be honest, the new character of Rich looks good for a man of his age), Alya is really not afraid to speak her mind. But I can see why Adam might be gutted about loosing alya and not just on a professional level. I also hope Eliza enjoys her new life in Germany and that Leanne is starting to get in too deep with Rowan a teachings, so much so that even Sam is believing it’s nonsense, and I’m he’s only a child. Yes I’m being open minded but if someone is charging you so much money for that learning then that’s a serious red flag. And I know Bobby was trying to help Roy, but at this point it’s just starting to get him into trouble, and Carla was right to get angry.
Later on I watched the rest of Love Triangle. It’s safe to say that after danika and Lloyds shock actions, it all kicked off. Jack was not pleased as even though he admits he could’ve communicated how he was feeling better, how she acted after that was not right. But it did bring some heartfelt moments, like Kelly opening up to Mike and Matt and jasmines first kiss, and the way he stroked her hair as they kissed just shows how much of a gentleman he is. But the dinner party is now the testing time for the couples. Lloyds admission to danika was shocking, and I’m surprised she didn’t seem at all upset, but maybe given her past, maybe she wanted an escape from being more vulnerable. Aly also had a lot to say about Dan, and I’m also questioning his curiosity as to why he signed up for the show. And I agree that it’s not that he doesn’t want to get back with her ex but it’s more the aftermath of it. Let’s also hope that after the bombshell twist things will run smoothly for those strong.
To end the day I checked my socials whilst I planned my day, learnt some Korean and bought some stuff. I didn’t spend too long on Korean given the time but just enough to give me at least 5 minutes of learning time. I also was meaning to buy the stuff I need to get and I’m glad I did now.
Tuesday: To kick off the day I watched Mondays addition of Doctors. I was wondering why Thomas latest patient was so defensive on why she wanted an exact birthing plan , but when she revealed to Ruhma and her doula (which I don’t know what they do but they seem very important), who didn’t agree with her at first but after a chat found some common ground, what really happened I know that she’ll have support every step of the way. And I’m glad that Kirsty took her break up with Dave well. After initially thinking he was a little bit controlling it turns out they want different things. And you do have to feel for Suni when the pressure of being a partner does kick in as he wants to help the mills financial situation in whatever way he can.
I then made my way to doing a home workout. I was going to go the gym but because I had stuff going on I didn’t want to get overwhelmed before going out. And as one of my traits is that I like to keep fit and healthy, I stuck to my word and did a home workout. Whilst this one didn’t involve weights, I managed to get a good session in. Yes it was tough but I’m glad I did it, and it was a good change from what I usually do.
I was going to film my tapes to send to the casting directors, but because my reader had a situation that was beyond their control I had to re look at my schedule. Yes it did get abit overwhelming but I stepped back, took a breath, and started again. And I actually managed to get a few things done.
One of those things was developing my blog on the National Youth They’re Access Acquired event. Yes it was a while back and whilst I may not be able to remember every single detail of it, the key points of what happened have helped massively. So overall I’m glad that it got off to a good start. I then moved onto filming a short clip for my audition on Mandy, followed by applying for some more day jobs and taking some washing out whilst finishing an Act On This broadcast. Now afterwards I need to catch up on the affiliate training to help refresh my memory. This then moved onto doing my surveys and also developing my blog for Nottingham puppet festival. I had to reduce my time on this but got some good work in there and as I’m writing this all I have to do is write about the first show I saw, tweak it abit and then get it sent off.
Before I went out I watched episode 3 of Kin whilst I had my lunch. I know that Mike was trying to convince Anna that he’s changed, but I don’t think the shooting and a potential diagnosis (which did affect me at one point) didn’t do him any favours. And I have noticed the sexual tension between him and Amanda, even though she’s married to his brother jimmy. But I think she’ll be in for a shock when the wife of the victim threatened her.
The afternoon was a mixture of good and productive moments. To start the afternoon I went to the cinema with my Nan to watch the new Amy Winehouse film Back to Black. I don’t normally go to the cinema but when I do it has it be a good film. And this one was a blast. For some reason I’ve always been drawn to her music and after watching the film, you get to see how fun and caring she was. I’m not saying that how she dealt with the things that have happened to her as an excuse, but after what I’ve seen you could see why she wanted to escape from it all. And with her being the star she is the paparazzi being on her case all the time didn’t help that much. But it was a good film to watch and I’m glad I went.
As I got back after walking my dog I worked on the script with my scene partner for class the next day. We only chatted about it and I’m glad we did, as then when we run through it either during rehearsal time or if we get stuck in we can come into it fresh to give it that authentic edge. And so far what we’ve decided was great and I can’t wait to see how it pans out.
I then moved onto todays addition of Doctors. This one saw a household divided as a woman takes in a homeless man who her daughter doesn’t get on with. But after the girl reveals to the man why she has her reservations at the end, I hope they can move forward with their lives. I also think that the stress of the mill has taken a toll on zara, and I don’t think she’s trying to see that Suni was only helping seeing as he’s also let of the partnership. At this point it’ll affect the staff one by one, as Paige seems to be the first one.
In between the episode I watched Coronation Street from 22nd April. I really hope that Joel doesn’t mess Dee Dee about this time, and after Toyah lashed out, it seems to have come at a bad timing as Leanne has been manipulated by Rowan once again. Whilst I’m up for journaling, the way he described it was abit too intense. I also hope that someone will rescue Freddie without getting Roy to confess to Lauren’s murder even though he didn’t do it (and I think Asha may have put herself in a sticky situation) and that I do hope Aadi and Amy will become an item. I know that Aadi will do it the right way as I know that last time when they kissed Amy was triggered by what happened with Aaron, so I’m hoping that if they do decide to give things a try Aadi will approach it the right way and not make any feel uncomfortable which I’m sure he will.
To end the evening I watched the fire that of episode 4 of Kin. I was not expecting Fudges fate to be sealed so suddenly, and that I get why Amanda sent Anthony to a boarding school given what’s happened in episode 1. I also do think that Anna secretly wants to get to know Mickey but because of what’s happened in their past she need some convincing from Mikey that whatever has happened he was not to blame fully. I can’t wait to see what happens tomorrow.
To end the day I learnt abit of Korean whilst I checked my socials and scheduled my day. This was a short session on a new topic, so it would be fascinating to see the other sessions on the topic of colour.
Wednesday: To start the day I watched the rest of episode 4 of Kin. This one definitely brought the drama and not in a shouty way. There was definitely some sexual chemistry between Amanda and Mikey, and I still think there is now. Something tells me that they may get it off again at some point.
I then made my way to the gym where I did a leg session. I also managed to fit in some boxing and despite this one feeling a bit harder (although I didn’t think the full body session helped), I felt good afterwards. and that’s what matters most of all.
As I came home I then filmed my self tapes. I had to get someone else to fill in for my original reader but I’m glad I got a friend of mine who helped me. And it went surprisingly really well! I think I know which one from my Hollyoaks inspired self tape I’m going to send to Peter hunt, but I’m a bit undecided on Doctors. So at some point tomorrow I’ll look through them and just go with my gut on which one I feel is the best one to send.
To finish off the morning I listened to the first hour of an act on this podcast. This one was different as it goes through an affiliate training where if I’m a member I can get my membership for free by becoming an affiliate and getting people to sign up through my link. And honestly? I think I need this session. As after looking at the benefits of it I do need a refresher on it. And I think I know who to send them too.
During lunch I watched episode 4 of Love Triangle whilst I also updated my budgeting table. This brought all the drama, and whilst some people like Dan and Aly were relieved it’s happening, others were heartbroken. And you have to feel for Kelly, as she is naturally beautiful and she deserves to be loved. And the same goes for Matt as after following him on his socials and being part of his webinars for act on this, he’s a beautiful gentleman inside and out. But after looking at the trailer for episode 5 I have a feeling it’ll end in tears.
To help wind down before class I read more of Live Well Everyday, where I’m nearly finished and got some very informative tips out there, and learnt some Korean. I was struggling with this session in particular but I persevered and I managed to get there. So all in all, a challenging but rewarding session.
The final thing I did was go through the mammoth task of gathering some day player roles and scenes from Coronation Street and Hollyoaks. As I’m writing this I’m up to date with Hollyoaks and managed to get through another weeks worth of Corrie. But I’m going to use Sunday to along with catching up on another act on this podcast or another activity linking to my acting career for an hour, I will finish off the rest then along with Doctors.
As the evening came to a close, before class I watched todays instalment of Doctors. This one saw Zara trying to apologise to Paige, but somehow it’s ended up turning into a lunch which neither of them don’t want to go to. I wonder if the dress in question was linking to Daniel? I also think that Suni may have some gossip for the mill in their prep to get their finances back on track. And rob was definitely in for a ride when three protesters were in trouble for different reasons. Yvonne may be an elder but let’s just say she has the attitude of a teenager. I guess some people will never learn.
It was then time for my acting class. This is when we performed the self tapes we’d been practicing but the session was slightly altered. Tim was away so an actors workshop alumni took his place. And you know what? It was a good session. Yes the partners worked out differently but we got to experience what an audition would look like, who would be in the room and what they do during the audition. So it was nice to go into more depth and get some more inside information on how each role works, and to also make you appreciate how much time and effort they see directing people.
To help wind down I checked my socials whilst I scheduled my day. I even managed to alter my holidays at work which has also been a real benefit. And the sooner it’s down the better even if I don’t get the outcome I want.
Thursday: to start the day I watched Mondays addition of Hollyoaks. John Paul was right to make be suspicious of Carter, and after finding out his plan to ruin pride, he knows he had to take action. I was also surprised by the reappearance of Hannah and that it was a good job she came, as you do not want to mess with her. I also hope that now that Zain has regained conscious, misbah will have a new found appreciation for him, as it’s moments like this where you don’t realise how much someone means to you until it’s nearly gone. And I wonder what Freddie is trying to do when he finds a plan to break into the loft?
I then made my way to the gym. It was a good session as I got my upper body strength going. And I even managed to increase the residence in some abs training which I’m also proud of myself. And on the way there and back I continued to write about Nottingham puppet festival and sent my affiliate link to an actors workshop member who was looking for a new agent. Let’s hope they find it useful.
I then cooked the tea. And I’ll be honest, I was quite proud of myself. And the broth used to make it, as I made ramen, was just the right amount of flavour. Nice kick but with the lime it balanced it out nicely. So all I’m all along with the assistants from my Nan I more or less did it by myself.
In between the cooking I watched the first 3 quarters of episode 3 of Love Triangle. And all I can say is I think at this point Lloyd will not get any woman at this point the way he’s acting, and that I do hope that has will go back to Matt as I really don’t know what she sees in jack. And I also know that Mike is going to be in big trouble with Kelly.
I then watched Tuesdays addition of Hollyoaks whilst I had lunch. And although John Paul got it wrong the first time about Carter, he trusted his gut instinct and managed to finally find Hannah just in the Nick of time. And I hope Dillon will tell Lucas to finally accept himself, and that afyer maxine spots Murphy, I wonder if Warren really did drive Ste to murder?
I then made my way to work. Before then I listened to the first part of an act on this broadcast. This really helped get me motivated from work as having to not catch up on the rest of a podcast due to time, this has fulfilled me just as much. And work itself was okay. It was a very calm place today which is what I like. And so far it was probably for once (despite getting sensory overload from a child crying) a decent shift.
As I got back from work I watched more of the premier league darts whilst I had my first lot of dinner as seen below. There were only 3 games due to one player having an injury. But that didn’t stop some good games happening. It’s safe to say that Michael can green wasn’t best pleased when rob cross beat him, and that Luke Littler was not fire against Michael smith with quite possibly the quickest darts match I’ve ever seen with a brilliant average. Now that he’s definitely in the playoffs, if he plays his cards right he could quite possibly win the whole thing.
To end a busy day I checked my socials from my personal account and learnt a bit of French. As for some reason Duolingo has decided to make me skip some Korean and it got confusing once again. So I decided to head back to the language of love and after a few booster sessions I’m glad I did.
Friday: To start the day I watched a bit of the premier league darts from last night to wake me up. And Peter weights home crowd song really bought the house down. Even though he’s not going to the play offs, at least he’s ending his premier league journey in style.
I then made my way to work. This shift felt different as I just got a good vibe about it. And despite nearly loosing my book again I had a great shift for once, picking up a new skill when date checking products. I even managed to go through lines for a monologue I’ve previously done but plan to re film it for my acting page. So all I can say is watch this space.
As I got back I listened to the rest of the act on this podcast. This was the session I needed, as I have all the tools and rules to gain some extra money to pay for my membership and then eventually a full time side hustle for my acting career.
This then followed by getting ready for Belvoir and walking my dog with some yoga. Because I didn’t plan this on my day before I knew I was going to be off schedule for abit. But because I was going to have a long day tomorrow I knew I needed to get it in. And I’m glad I did, as yes even though today was alright better than normally, I didn’t want to get my hopes too much. And as I would be needing to make sure I have everything ready, I also need to be relaxed.
To help wind down for the evening I watched Wednesdays addition of Hollyoaks. Warren is definitely out of control after “getting rid of Murphy”, and you have to feel for poor Maxine when he was horrible to her. And I feel him going on the bottle again won’t do him any favours. I also have a theory on Lizzie secret and who the father was. But I could be wrong after all. And after tracking down Carter I hope Lucas will be okay after being brainwashed by Carter once again and taking it out on Dillon.
I then moved onto episodes 5 and 6 of One Day whilst having my second lot of Ramen as seen above. And you know what how Dexter was with his mum knowing how ill she is, I don’t blame his father for giving him some home truths, and I do not want to get on his bad side. But the opposite is for Emma, who went on a date with Ian. And he’s actually a really sweet guy, which also carried through to episode 6, who made sure she was ready for the schools play. But I have a funny feeling on the head teacher, and I wonder if he’s just being creepy or if he genuinely likes her. Who knows? But what I do know is that Dexter's mistakes may have cost him his career. And after seeing spoiled on Gogglebox, I dread how Emma will act when he sees Dexter for the person he is recently.
I then moved onto Thursdays instalment of Doctors. Zara had a very interesting lunch with Paige, and even though they may have some things in common, I still feel as though she may be irritated by her just a tiny bit. And Luca had a very interesting visit from a lady who isn’t as she says she is. And I wonder if the two boys come of which has a sister to look after, will go back to their old ways. Hhmmm. And I’m glad that Scarlett has a friend like Rob, who will be there for her no matter what. I just hope she can trust herself to do a good job on her driving test. I then of course checked my socials and learnt abit of French. It wasn’t much and I was at the bottom of the table but at least I did my learning.
Saturday: to start what was going to be a long day, I watched the rest of episode 6 of Love Triangle. Even though Moses isn’t as spiritual as jack, he definitely knows how to treat a woman right. And whilst I agree that he can’t force a connection with Danika, Lloyd will end up with no one at this point. I also don’t understand why jasmine how fancies jack even though he made a comment on her ankles. But I hope it doesn’t dent Matt’s confidence as he’s one of the nicest guys to have come on a reality show. This was then followed by abit of the darts. I didn’t watch the whole match but the energy of Luke littler and Nathan Aspinals walk on was enough for me
I then made my way to work. It was mainly facing up which I was surprised considering it’s the bank holiday weekend. But I managed ti find the positive in it by listening to Orinoco flow by emus before the shop opened. And I feel that this is the perfect May Day song. I also caught up on the last few minutes of an act on this broadcast which definitely brought new up my day.
Before I knew it, it was time for the may day event at Belvoir. Now out of all the Belvoir events I’ve done, this is quite possibly the best one I’ve done so far. And it had everything. Live music, bubbles, old games, maypole and even face paints, where I had a lovely one done with some flowers due to not having time to put some on when I got there. And it was also the first time where I was leading children on how to use the maypole, and I feel as though I found my calling. One family member even remembered me from a previous event. It’s moments like this where being an actor means more than the money but the memories the families make. Yes it was exhausting but worth it for a day of sun, song, happiness and a beautiful picture of the castle as seen below on the way back. And I even got a wonderful face paint as part of my costume from a wonderful lady called Petra.
When I got back I watched episode 6 of Love triangle whilst listing and nudging a few jobs on spotlight. I loved how Zara and Simon cooled things off mutually but I feel it’s all about to kick off. I feel as though Dan is not the person he says he is, and I get a feeling that things aren’t over between Danika and Lloyd even though he says he’s focused on Emily. And you have to feel for poor Kelly, as a lot of people would be wondering why she’s on a tv show when she knew that there would be a chance her match could pick someone else. But what people need to remember is that she is a human behind the cameras. And after revealing her past, you could see why she’s upset. And honestly I’m looking forward to episode 7, but Ed I hope that Matt will find some common ground with jasmine regardless if she goes back to him or not (but I hope she does).
I then walked my dog and did sole yoga. It felt like a brilliant session and definitely a way to end things on a high. This was then followed by Thursdays addition of Hollyoaks. It had it all, from Freya doing the right thing and handing in Carter to the police, to Lizzie telling Cindy about her secrets which only made their bond stronger. I also wonder where dilly and Hunter were when Zoe and prince did the dirty, moments after both of them got engaged. And Kitty really showed Carter who’s boss as well as displaying a brilliant singing voice. But after seeing recent spoilers on the show I am not prepared to see where her fate lies.
In between Hollyoaks I watched Coronation Street from 24th and 28th April whilst I had a Chinese from Marks & Spencer's as seen above. Aadi was a real sweetheart when he mentioned Amy’s story in prep for her job interview, which he of course mentioned it anonymously. I do hope they get together, but only when both Aadi and Amy are ready. And I think Paul would make the perfect first guest. And I haven’t been paying to George’s dads Will reading due to Toyah revealing the real reason why she trashed the flower bed. And Georgia Taylor acting through out that powerful monologue was beautiful. It’s moments like this where they trying not to cry is the most powerful. I also think that there may be something which they will both regret later on, and now that Leanne is still under the influence of Rowan and his new technique of uploading (where I’m all for talking throngs through but this method was ridiculous), I think this will only drive them further apart. And despite Bobby's best efforts to change his statement it wasn’t enough for Roy. And he knew that something was off.
I then moved into watching Gogglebox. And there are shows which I need to see, like MILF Manor. Not only to support Jacob, who so far was the only British guy on the show, but to see how it gets on when the boys dads come on the show, and The Piano, where we all need a Duncan in our life. Although I thought the lady using asparagus to predict the future was ridiculous, but I swear that the one perfect club have just got the questions harder and harder. Then before bed I learnt some Korean and checked my socials from my professional side side. I knew I wouldn’t be too late to bed, but a nice little session did all the world of good.
Sunday: To start the day I watched the premier league darts. I knew that Luke Littler's energy woke me up and woke me up it did. My dad was also wide awake but I don’t think Margo was too happy about it. Lol!
I then made my way to work. And it’s safe to say the May Day energy really helped me get through the day. And it’s moments like this as to why I decided to be an actor, as you can express your authentic self in ways you wouldn’t normally could. And the after effects can run through you into other areas of your life, and if they see I’m happy, it makes them happy.
As I got back I watched the rest of Gogglebox. And I’ll be honest nothing surprises me with Rishi Sunak anymore, and that I need to start pottery after it’s the new things and also a rave in the day with Vicky McClure, being the Nottingham icon she is. I’m also wondering if the possession that Sharon had been through was genuine, and that the last thing I needed to hear was toilet talk in the castle.
I then moved onto BGT whilst I had lunch, and it had it all once again. from a rapper who improvised every line, to someone dressed as Elsa miming to the song with some horrid special affects. But my favourite act had to be Taryn Charles, and she literally bought the house down. Yes it’s a common song that is used a lot, but her version of it was fantastic! And it actually deserved the golden buzzer and now she’s the one I want to win so far. I also admired the danger act who despite the mistake they did it again. It just goes to show how dangerous some acts are and the trust they have to put in one another. Let’s hope that there will be more surprises on the way later on.
After gathering some day player roles from Corrie and Doctors (where I did the last one later on), and brain dumping everything for next week (which I was going to do later but I wanted to see my dad first) I then listened to the first hour of an act on this podcast with an accountant. I’m only an hour in, and so far my brain is already frazzled. Yes this is the least sexy thing out of all of the podcasts but it could be the most valuable. And after narrowing it down into simple notes I think I’m starting to get it. Basically, save when you get paid. And I think after I finish the rest at some point next week it’ll all come to my head eventually.
To wind down, I nipped to the shops followed by walking my dog and doing some yoga. But once again I did let time run past and got distracted from YouTube. But in some ways it has helped me keep calm in prep for the weeks ahead which I guess is all that matters.
As I slowly got ready for the next and final day of Belvoir I watched the rest of Britain's Got Talent. First of all how did Simon it like the teacher? And also the last act was so inspirational. And as someone on the autistic spectrum it just shows that just because you have a disability it does not mean to say you can achieve X, Y and Z. And if the public get it right they could be in the running of winning the show.
I then watched Fridays addition of Hollyoaks whilst I had dinner. I know Misbah was trying to do what’s right for Dillon, but he’s also right in saying that it’s not his fault that he ended up in hospital. And now that the truth about Carter is exposed, John-Paul and those around him will do what they can to make sure it doesn’t happen again. But with Declan visiting Lucas and the spoilers linking to kitty, something tells me that this is far from over. But at least Diane and Ro managed to finally make a breakthrough and can move forward. And the guilt is weighing in on prince after he and Zoe did the dirty, and with hunters exit announced I feeling it won’t end well. And both Freddie and Ste have ended up in a dangerous situation when Warren comes back to the loft.
To finish the day I checked my socials whilst prepping for my final day at Belvoir castle. This was then followed by a session of French. I knew that I wasn’t going to reach the next league as many mistakes were made. But I managed to work my way through them and got what I could get done. And I remained consistent which is the main thing.
What I had I learnt this week? Find my why, and that also the most magical moments are the smallest moments. And the memories you give to families are what for me, success is all about!
See you soon for another blog. Until next time…
This is The Autistic Actress signing off :)
