Finding my Strength, Collective Magic & Gladiator Thriller!

Hello world! Welcome back to another blog. I won't lie, after catching another bug, this week has been hard. But I managed to get through it like a trouper, whilst still getting those all important jobs done. So without further ado, here is what I got up to in the week commencing 3rd February 2025.

Professional:

Acting Class:

This week during my acting class, it was a mix of Old King Cole, upcoming auditions and continuing with Practical Aesthetics. We also looked at someone who did a monologue in preparation for Drama School, and they did a really good job on their performance. We then looked at the scripts with the aim to get them filmed the following week. After initially struggling with what script to film, me and my scene partner came to a decision and I'm quite excited to see how it'll pan out the following week.

Passion Show Presentation:

This week I developed my presentations for my Passion show. And I'm glad I got to that stage, as if I didn't start it now, I would never get round to it. And sometimes that's the hardest part to do when starting a new job or getting the one thing on your to do list that you so desperately need to do.

NYT Collective:

This week I continued the course with the National Youth Theatre. There was alot of information to take in, but after a chat on what the plan is for the next two weeks, I'm excited to see what magic we come up with for the final sharing. For Fridays meet up, me and my group managed to get alot of work done. Yes we were still way out of our depth, and yes there may be alot more work to be done than expected. But we at least have a structure on where to go next and jobs allocated to each member, which is the important thing.

Act On This podcast:

This weeks Act On This podcast was with casting director Karen Scully who worked with Louise Kiely. Boy it was a brilliant session, and Karen seemed like a really sweet person. I won’t reveal all, but how they cast projects and the policy they have is one that surprised me and also excites me! But it was a really good session overall!

Coronation Street:

On the cobbles, it was filled with reunions, concern for loved ones and an explosive moment which rocked one family forever. I managed to catch up on both episodes the week commencing 27th January. It was good that Abi was able to confide in Nina, knowing that she cared for Seb as much as Abi. But I could tell that it wasn’t able to stop the hallucinations. Leanne was also not having a good time with her community service, and the teenagers who tainted her were definitely not helping. I also thought that getting drunk at the bistro again wasn’t doing any favours, and a comment she made to Sam made her realise that her actions have serious consequences, and good on Sam for telling her straight up how he feels about the whole thing. But on a brighter note, the news of dev and Bernie’s engagement was something for all to look forward to, and I get Bernie’s sadness about Paul not being here to witness it. That and chesney booking a holiday is something the family don’t need, but a sudden arrest for tampering the mystery man in a van a few weeks ago may cause more trouble. And the accusations made against Cassie stealing just backfires when somehow she manages to cover it up, and also Ken’s decision to ask her to move in, which she accepts immediately, which will cause more harm than good. Finally shonas kidnap was the point where David revealed the truth to Sarah about the money, and I can imagine her fury. And along with an air gun, moving out seemed like the only option for now. On the 29th, Amy was met with a devastating blow when she came face to face with a blast from the past in the form of Aaron’s dad. But Steve was oblivious after spending time with Leanne and things getting abit frisky between them. But you would think that Steve’s wise words would stop Leanne from annoying Nick and toyah more, but I think she’s just getting started on her revenge. Abi is once again also having a hard time, when after seeing another vision of Seb and Mason, she makes the crucial mistake of leaving Alfie behind and missing Kevin’s appointment. I also get why Debbie was angry as she’s looking out for her brother, but Ronnie was right to support Abi instead of judge her after recent events. and after a visit from the social worker, Abi is hellbent on giving Debbie a piece of her mind, not knowing that it’s actually Toyah who called them. Evelyn was also suspicious of Cassie's intentions of moving in with Ken, and after needing to pay the holiday money for the fine, Chesney managed to still get a holiday but for the whole family. Let’s just hope they can go after what’s happened. Finally, David has no choice but to sell the house in order to get Harvey’s money back, but some help from Andy may lead him down a dangerous path, and after seeing spoilers, it doesn’t look good for the Platt clan. I also managed to catch up on two explosive episodes from 3rd and 5th February. And wow they were what I call showstoppers. Whoever did the camera for the one shot during the house deserves a medal as that was brilliant. But outside of the fire there was more drama right in front of my eyes. A comment from Todd made Tim wonder if he was like his dad, but Sally was there to reassure him. There were all sorts of emotions at Sarah’s birthday, from Sarah and Todd taking a trip down memory lane, to her and Shona arguing over David’s but Shona was right to be suspicious when David didn’t turn up until the fire, and when Logan was hiding at Shuttleworths, placing David in danger. But like Matty in prison, Logan must’ve channelled what he went through into anger, which isn’t healthy in the long run. Abi is also having a hard time after knocking shins out after experiencing more hallucinations, but thank god for Roy who found her in time. Even though Debbie is still being abit harsh with her, I think this is the moment Abi will need to get proper help. Let’s just hope Kevin will be there for her when she needs it. And Steve and Leanne’s antics had a negative impact on Amy, but I think they were more understanding after telling the truth of what happened that night. I also never knew Aadi was so wise, and in my mind I hope they do get together. But given what any has been through, Aadi is not the sort of person to put any pressure on her. And Tracey is also fuming when she finds out the truth on Steve’s antics, and I also don’t blame Nick for being angry at Leanne, especially after Toyah ended up in the hospital. Also after giving Leanne a false alibi, Steve is also suspicious when Tim mentions about the actual time Leanne was at Oliver’s grave. But now we have suspects on the line, and let’s just hope max pulls through, so he can find out for himself what’s going on.

Hollyoaks:

This week the downfall for Abe started to come to a dramatic conclusion. Following on from the dramatic week before, the plan to destroy Abe is in action. Leela, Cleo and peri were about to be done for, but thankfully Mercedes came but not before Joel followed suit. His efforts to try and calm Abe down were no good though, as after talking about their childhood (and I did feel that it was part of the reason why Abe is the way he is), he was on the loose to ruin Tony’s re-opening of the Hutch. And Marie’s terror came to ahead when Joel followed suit. But meanwhile, Martha’s discussion with Abe may have petrified Sienna even more, knowing what she’s been through already. Tuesdays episode saw Joel catch up with Abe, but Marie thankfully managed to calm him down and stop him from doing something stupid. But whilst Joel had a plan, Cleo was not convinced, so she and Sienna managed to play him at his own, as Sienna also needed to put a stop to Abe following Martha’s encounter with him. I also understand Diane’s frustration with Tony high on morphine, thinking she was Marie, but, but then two fighting isn’t helping the situation, and I’m also glad that Leela and Joel agree to wait for the DnA test results once everything has settled down. Finally, I’m glad that Freddie was there for Mercedes when she needed him, but something tells me grace is not very happy. Finally, Wednesdays episode saw Cleo and Sienna figure out what to do next with Abe. But thankfully Sienna managed to stopped her from doing something stupid, but it did lead to a charged moment between the pair. Whether it’ll progress into something more I don’t know, but they could do with some happiness after the grief they both went through. I’m also glad that Joel has got the answers he wanted linking to Clara, and that Marie and Tony were able to give things another go. But something tells me that as one door closes on Abe, another one opens for Arlo. I’m also glad for Diane for putting herself out there, but little does she know who she’s dealing with. And finally Mercedes is in for trouble after grace finishes off Abe herself (with a head start from Jeremy) and putting the blame on her. I just hope Freddie can get Mercedes out in time, not only for her health but to also avoid the wrath of grace.

Eastenders:

This week in Walford it was filled with sneaky tactics, confessions and a scandalous affair being revealed. Mondays episode saw Cindy trying to get a confession from Kathy, but Ian rumbled her plan. But she soon realised that she got it wrong, and that her focus on who the suspect is may be someone else completely. Priya is also suspicious of Ravi when he misses nuggets appointment. And Nugget is also on edge after his dad missing his appointment but also still under Nish’s spell once again. Lauren also tried to make Sonia open her eyes to the whole situation, and during a double date with Nigel and Norma (which Yolande and Patrick helped Nigel out with, and I need love experts like these two), Phil has literally reached breaking point when Norma’s friend living mentioned about her past life. But whilst Nigel was enjoying both Norma’s and livid company, Phil’s sad decision was abit of a hard watch. Tuesdays episode saw Phil being taken to hospital following his fall, but even then he wouldn’t accept help, making it out to be something else. And I loved Nigel’s analogy when Phil pushes him away, and you can see how much pain Phil is really in when he talks to himself. Denise was also needing a hero in need when Jack came to help with a power problem, but there was still tension when Ravi came to visit. But I can imagine Denise’s reaction when she finds out thy Ravi and Priya shared a secret kiss following a heated argument earlier. I also think that Cindy moving in with junior will once again cause some tension, and finally I’m glad so is is determined to get that recording to find out what really happened to Bianca. Wednesdays episode saw the Panasers see what Nish has left for everyone in his will. I could just feel for Ravi when he hears about Bernie’s involvement and also leaving him out of most of the Will. And even though Priya was trying to help him when he got upset, I can understand her reaction when he turns her down. But after Bernie mistakenly thought their was a burglary, I just can’t wait to see the reaction in the aftermath of the discovery. Cindy is also on the warpath with Ian, and everyone finding out she’s moved in with junior is not helping. Sonia’s chance to see biancas confession for herself may be thwarted by Reiss, and despite an insult from Phil about Keanu following discovering his escort secret, Sharon won’t back down until Phil accepts help, which could be a while yet.  Finally, following on from the dramatic episode, its safe to say that everyone has a very interesting opinion on Denise and Ravi. I can see why Denise likes them both for different reasons, and with the 40th anniversary of the show coming up, I wonder who the viewers will favour the most. But at the moment after an altercation at The Vic, the last thing Denise needs is Jack and Ravi at loggerheads. But meanwhile, Sharon is also still worried about Phil when he zones out whilst with Albie, and Sonia seeing the confession video is still making her more confused than ever, even though the police now have Bianca under arrest and are now on the hunt for her. And speaking of Bianca, if she stays in the storage box for any longer, it may be game over. I just hope she won't do anything stupid after Reiss gives her something to "Put her out of her misery", and I think we all know what that means.

Gladiator:

This week I finally managed to watch the film Gladiator, after previously learning scripts from the second film. I can see why this was a popular film when it was released, and 10 minutes in it all kicked off. But it was also the self care I needed after a tough few days (which I'll mention later on towards the end), so I deserved to watch this film.

Personal:

Exercise:

This week due to feeling poorly, I had to be careful when it came to keeping fit, meaning there was no strength training. However, I didn't use this as an excuse to not do anything, so I simply managed to get at least 10 minutes on my dads exercise bike and some yoga. Will I loose abit of strength in the process? Yes. But the last thing I wanted was to overdo it. So at least I got my body moving.

Coffee with Bestie:

This week I managed to have a coffee and a catchup with one of my awesome Actors Workshop friends. This was well needed, especially after Christmas and to also give us chance to talk about life outside of the workshop. We also had a chance to get some inspiration for my dads birthday, so at least that was good. All in all, a good chance to catch up, and I think those ginger biscuits definitely helped settle my stomach.

Online Business Mastery:

This week I managed to go through the video of Module 2.2 and now in the process of filling in the workbook. I'm slowly but surely making progress with it, and whilst I have 5 other things happening (one of which I can implement into this course), any progress is better than none. But once the passion show is done, this and developing my acting career will be my priorities, as well as making time for myself to avoid stress, overwhelm and burnout.

Darts:

I only managed to get a couple of practice throws at my ay job, but I'm glad of my achievement. Useful to? If into darts or anything to let off some steam before a busy day, always do it in the morning, as then you'll feel energised and ready to go by then.

Premier League of Darts:

It was that time of year again where 8 of the best players take part in a 16 week tournament to be crowned champion. Although it didn't get off to a best start, as lets just say that there was a technical signal for one of the TVs. But fingers crossed it was only a one time thing, although that didn't stop me from seeing some amazing scores and tense matches.

Gladiators:

This week it involved a new event called "Unleash" and two contenders being a married couple. This was an event and a half, and The Eliminator had to be the best one yet, and I have a feeling at least one of the married couple will be the fastest loser, or at least in the running. And I don't know if it's part of their character or in real life, but Sabre and Apollo may have something going on between them.

The Masked Singer:

During the double elimination stages, one character had a guess of an artist which I haven’t heard the name of for a while. And after hearing the voice and remembering past songs from the artist, it made me wonder if their guesses were right.

Hard Times:

I would say that the hard times this week include being abit poorly. Because of that I knew I needed to prioritise rest over everything else. And that seemed to work in my favour, as towards the end of the week I felt much better. And once again Margo being all cute definitely helped!

What have I learnt this week? If you need to have a week off, that’s okay. As long as you come back stronger, you can’t go wrong.

See you soon for another blog. Until next time…

This is The Autistic Actress signing off :)
