Back On Your Screens, The Return of Pinky The Elf & Going Down Under

Hello world! Welcome back to another blog! Alot has happened this week, not only because it's the last full week of November, but it also means that we're edging ever so closer to the festive period. So without further ado, here is what I got up to of the week commencing 18th November!

Professional:

TV appearance:

This week kicked off with me being back on Notts TV to talk about all things open house event with the actors workshop Nottingham. It was so much fun like the last time, and I hope that it’ll bring in more people to come to a night of free entertainment. Please see the link to the interview from that day where we come on at 15mins 32secs: https://youtu.be/DxU8j8zXai8?si=GnSJj4dVKZu8aGyx

Here is also the link for the event itself. Make sure you get your free ticket ASAP if you’re reading this before 8th December: AW OPEN HOUSE 2024

Acting class:

This week we once again looked at the pantomime in preparation for the open house event. But before that we did abit of a warmup where yes it was simple but explaining it was abit more complicated. But all in all it was a lot of fun. When it came to the show itself, we ran it through from the top and because we had a different teacher, he added his own unique spins and gags on it. And I quite liked it, so I think his suggestions along with my main teachers ideas will I think work really well! I won’t say what they are as if you come to the event I’ll let you guess what they are!

Belvoir Castle:

This week I did my first shift at Santa's Grotto. Yes it was abit manic with it being the first day, but let’s just say it had its moments. One of which was reading one boy a story. yes it was out of my comfort zone knowing it wasn’t planned but I felt the fear and did it anyway. And whilst I got mixed up on some words, the child and grownups enjoyed it, and I got to enjoy a delicious burger King to end the day! Let’s just hope when I come back in a few weeks everything will be better and more organised.

Act on this podcast:

This week I managed to go through a podcast with the brilliant Seth Mason. It was a long one yes but I’m glad I separated it into two parts, and I managed to gain a lot of information out of it. I won’t reveal all but let’s just say I know his dos and don’t. But overall it’s been a really good session!

Petch’s self tape challenge:

This week I submitted my Petch’s self tape challenge video. Yes it was a hard one but the fact I did it made it all worth while. And apparently I was the only one who did this months challenge which felt like an honour. Here is the link for the full video of my tape: https://youtu.be/TkyoO7iuKmI?si=jOYEcoFawXLM00f4

Shows I watched:

Coronation street:

The cobbles brought in lots of drama as always. On the 15th and 18th October (and we’ll done to Duncan Foster for directing these thrilling episodes), it finally revealed the truth on what happened to Joel. And even though I get why Mad is taking the blame, as I know it’ll be a million times harder for Lauren. But I know the after affects if what’s happened has an impact on everyone. Dee Dee is struggling to come to terms with her news, and even though I get why David is adamant about Clayton, he is also shonas son. But I can’t believe he used her brain damage to hide his own secret, and I agree with Nick on that score as well. I also admired Tim for standing up to masons brothers when they threatened him in front of Betsy, but was mason right to tell Tim that he’s name made a target of himself. This then followed with episodes from 20th and 22nd. After getting spray painted following taking the wrap for mason, the radcliffes are out for war with Tim. But after Mason reveals true truth, they decided to use Betsy to change their ways. But she had enough on her plate, as after forgetting her late mums Becky’s birthday, Lisa ended up at Carla’s flat after getting drunk. And let’s just say one thing led to another with Lisa and Carla, which are you can imagine it left Betsy feeling frustrated in fear of replacing Becky. Yes I get the feeling but Carla is also right when she said that Lisa also wants happiness as well. But I won’t think she’ll be laughing for long when Betsy makes Matty and Logan an offer they can’t turn down. I’m also sure that when Dee Dee tells Michael and Ed about her pregnancy they’ll be understanding, and I also agree with Nick that the longer he and Toyah are a secret the worse it’ll get. But the question is, how soon is too soon? And finally Lauren finally admitted to what she’s done, and I know that the truth will come out in the end, but max is right when David testified over Frankie staying at theirs. As she has no other family and the last thing she needs is her baby going into care.

Hollyoaks:

this weeks addition was once again full of twists and turns. Mondays episode saw Diane tell Ro why she lied to Tony. Yes I get it, but at the same time she needs to know when the spark has gone. And I think a rivalry with Marie is about to commence. and after still no luck with Darren, we all need a friend like John Paul after Nancy is still worrying about him. And finally Ste has definitely got a case of psychosis, which Misbah hasn’t confirmed yet but it definitely looks like it. And after Robbie kidnapped Rex, Ste thought he was responsible for killing James. And after trying to take baby James, I wonder how Lucas will react when Dillon reveals the truth. Tuesdays episode saw Ste going on a rampage, and with Lucas still mad at Dillon (who I think is starting to like the idea of being a dad), did what he could to get Ste out of the situation. And I think seeing Tony and Marie kiss confirms to Diane that she needs to move on. But I dread to think what Red will do now that everyone in his family has abandoned him. Finally on Wednesdays episode, it was great to see Charlie back, and Frankie finding out the truth was the right thing to do, as she may have found a key part in helping the family find Darren. Jeremy is also looking for answers where after ignoring Maxine and her theories, he managed to find out Vicky and Robbie blackmailing the photographer. I just hope it’ll be the end of their fued and hopefully find out the real killer. Finally I’m glad Lucas was able to get through to Ste again, and there may be some help for him on board. I’m also intrigued to see where Rex’s relationship with a boy called Jacob develops, and why he’s made the notes.

Eastenders:

In Walford I caught up on two episodes. I admired Martin for standing up to Mr Lister about why the market is important to everyone on the square, but he’s in for another shock when Ruby returns. I have heard of Louisa Lytton before and how she used to be in the show, but I’m intrigued to see the details of her relationship with Martin now that she’s back. Lauren’s pain is also having an impact on her loved ones, but I’m glad she’s finally getting the help she needs. I also loved Nicolas article and how she’s teasing teddy about her new ownership of Peggy’s, but I’m still interested to find out more about her relationship with Zak. And after an interesting stag do, the hen do was in full swing after Cindy joined in for the sake of Anna. But I think it’ll be more awkward when the act for Elaine’s stag has strong links to her (although the last names of both of them sort of gave it away). Tuesdays episode saw Elaine reveal the real reason why she hated Drew Peacock, which only made Linda’s drinking worse. But I think Johnny lending his services may have helped to patch things up. And even though there is one reason why Lauren is feeling the way she is, I think after seeing a storyline on Coronation Street it could be something else. Finally I’m glad Martin has a good support network after Ruby’s return (despite Ian saying the wrong thing at the wrong time, but I know it’s unintentional), I dread to think how he must be feeling when he discovers the real reason why Ruby won’t let him see his son.

Show trial:

Show trail was more epic, and we got to know the characters more and more. Episode 2 saw us get a feel of some of the character’s personalities outside of the case involving Justin Mitchell. Sam’s illness is starting to take a little bit of toll already following a disagreement with his colleague Claudia, but I’m glad they managed to patch things up in the end, and we can clearly see that Justin is still traumatised over an incident which was shown in the last episode. And as well as having a tough exterior for the case, Southgate does have abit of a soft side, which Becky is starting to see. And Leila's relationship with sister Tamara is starting to crack, but she has bigger things to worry about when Justin’s girlfriend Sandra is caught by the police. Episode 3 of the show brought in more twists and turns. Leila's life outside of work just got more tense when her mum gets involved, and Claudia had to pay for price for Sam representing Justin. And even though Leila originally wanted to get one up on Sam in regards to some insomnia tablets, I’m glad she decided to cut it off. I also wonder what Felix has planned next in his blog, and even though his son is trying to help, Sam’s condition just got too much. I also wasn’t expecting Sandra to hear what Justin really had to say about her and this definitely changed everything.

Until I Kill you:

I got more and more hooked with this show as I watched two more episodes. In episode 2, “Hate”, I can see why Delia is being defensive, as maybe it’s fear of not being believed or embarrassment. And I can see why when John got what he wanted. But all I can say is thank god for the neighbours at the end of the episode as it would be game over for Delia. And I must say, the detective in Amsterdam will not back down from this case. In episode 3, “Healing”, I can see just how much pain it took her to pick herself back up after the incident. And I can see why liaison officer Jane was annoyed at the system. But out of what’s happened I think we all need a David in our life, knowing that it’s possible to fall in love again after a traumatic period. But it didn’t last long when sweets case comes to light, and I don’t think the alcohol did her any favours. Let’s just hope she can pull herself together for the trial.

Alma’s Not Normal:

This week after doing some research on how the show came to be, it's given me a newfound appreciation for the work itself, as I can imagine it must've taken alot of hard work and graft to get it done! In episode 3, "Who The F Is Alice?", Alma got to meet her extended family after the news of great granny Alice. It was interesting to say the least, and there was a lovely appearance from an act on this member playing the funeral director! Well done Trevor. I also loved Auntie Ange as she is literally me when I get sad. And meeting her family may have come in handy. As during a stand up comedy course when talking about what is your USP (which I can definitely relate to), she managed to find what it is! And after doing some full depth of the process behind the show itself. it’s given me some newfound inspiration! And even if I don’t remember word for word, I can throw some imagination into it! In episode 5 “The Black and White Movie”, Alma managed to find her biological father, but after yet another situation with Lin (where Jim also stepped in and he’s such a sweetheart), Alma got to see his true colours. although her imagination of how the reunion would look like is me when I meet a very handsome man lol!

Personal:

Online Business Mastery:

This week I filled in some of my book for Online Business Mastery. It was only abit but sometimes a little bit is better than nothing at all. And after having a chat with my colleague on a query on something, he mentioned about setting up a group where we run classes for autistic performers, which tied in perfectly with this business course I'm doing.

Surveys.

This week I also did a few surveys. Like with Online Business Mastery it was only a little bit but it was better than nothing. And also a great form of self-care as well after a busy few weeks.

Exercise:

This week I continued my weekly exercise regime. But because of my shoulder I had to go abit lighter on my upper body. But all in all I'm glad I got it done, as I know I need to still gain some movement, even if it means pulling back on the resistant training.

Shows I Watched:

I’m A Celebrity:

This week I managed to watch the first week of I’m A Celebrity! I won’t reveal all but I’ll mention a few moments. Danny had a snaky encounter during his first trial, and both he and Barry proved that men crying isn’t a weakness after talking about their own trauma. I’ve also changed my opinion on GK Barry wafted having initial thoughts, and there was something Tulisa said which made me wonder if I experience romance in the same way as her. But Maura and Reverend Richard’s arrival brought the most drama, especially when it came to the lies about the junkyard. But all for a good reason as well!

Strictly Come Dancing:

The end of Blackpool week was insane. Tasha was literally a paso princess and Jamie’s Jive was an awesome way to end the show!

Post Blackpool week saw epic performances. But my favourite moments had to be Sarah’s rhumba and Chris’s paso doble, knowing that Diane’s parents would be here to see it. I still think they’d be in the running to win the whole thing, and I hope my predictions are right.

Gogglebox:

This week the tele addicts were back at it again, where due to a busy schedule I watched half of the show! All I can say is I’m glad everyone was rooting for Danny in “I’m A Celebrity” especially after the sneaky snake in his trial, and the Seal was so clever in providing some air for her pup in “Asia”. I also got to see some juicy gossip from the early days of take that in “Boybands Forever”, and you had to feel for Dylan in “The Great British Bake-off”.

Hard times:

I think my real struggle this week was my nerve injury. As back in March I pinched a nerve in my shoulder, and now that we’re in the cold season it’s started to flare up again. It’s one of those injuries where it comes when you least expect it, and it’s made me very grumpy at times. But I managed to get through it and the ibuprofen gel did most of the work itself. But I made the decision to go to a physio if it still continues and yes it will mean an investment but sometimes you need to put your health first! But at least Margo (who's had a lovely haircut which I'll post about on my X/Twitter account) made me laugh which I guess is a good distraction from the pain!

What have I learnt this week! Putting yourself first and when exercising, adjust it so you don’t overstrain yourself.

See you soon for another blog. until next time…

This is The Autistic Actress signing off :)
