Hello World!
It's me again. I just wanted to let you all know what has been happening during my crazy week.
To start with I found a hand cream that has made a difference to my hands. Long story short I suffer with really bad eczema, especially in the winter, and this time it did not want to go away.
I've been using the Aveeno cream and not only does it feel amazing but it has made a really difference in my hands. I think providing I continue to use it, its actually a better cream than the ones from the doctors.
I also saw a group of birds in my garden (I think they were starlings but I'm not 100% sure) in my garden. It was the most beautiful thing I have seen in a long time and the way they flew off together was magical.
In other news I went to a networking event in Derby called East Vs West, hosted by Midlands networking company Nexus. This I where people from the East Midlands and the West midlands come together to showcase their films and they battled it out to see which film was the best.
I had a few I quite liked. One of which was "Fancy a Redo", a comedy from the West Midlands. I thought they did a great job and I feel as though everyone needs a laugh, which I think that's why it was one of my favourites.
But the film that won the West Midlands and the overall night was "In Too Deep" which was produced and directed by Chris Overton and starred Rachel Shenton (who also produced this film, who I've seen before on an Act On This podcast, talking about her journey in the industry, and especially the aftermath of winning an Oscar for her short film "The Silent Child". What I liked about this film was that at first I thought it was a couple grieving for their child, but after finding out the father was keeping the child hostage, that's when the surprise got me. I can definitely see why it won best midlands film. And for the best East Midlands film, it was a short film called "The Amazing World of Emma", and lets just say that the friend of the main character was in on the plot the entire time and I was really not expecting that. I can definitely see why it won the best East Midlands film.
I also went to a gathering in the neighbourhood during the coronation weekend for a couple of hours. It was nice to get out for a bit and they were so lovely and welcoming. I had a cupcake which had jam filling inside the cake, and it was yummy. I also watched bits of the concert, one performer featured Lucy from "The Piano", an amazing artist who is blind but has a unique way of learning. When she has lessons, she places her hands on top of her teachers, he plays along so she can memorise the notes. It was and still is the most incredible thing I have seen in a long time.
Monday started off well, and because I wasn't at rehearsal for my show it was good to relax. But the start of Tuesday was horrid for many reasons. Firstly I felt so overwhelmed but I didn't know why and then the dog had an accident on the rug and so I had to wash it. And to top it all off my debit card got blocked twice (once on
Tuesday and then yesterday).
However, did I let that stop me? No. as whilst its good to let it out, I couldn't let it take over my life. So I continued my day as planned and went to Nottingham to help my friend with a voiceover project he's working on (all will be revealed soon) and went to my acting class where we are putting together a play linking to the coronation. And after that I felt so much better.
I wanted to write this week to sum up that life will always throw stuff at you, but it's how you deal with it that's the challenge. So if there's anyone that's feeling like life is just hating you at the moment, please don't be down, as the storm will pass and the sun will come back shining before you know it.
I hope everyone is having a lovely week and hope to check back in with you all soon :)
Until next time...
This is the Autistic Actress singing off :)
